FATTY ACID RESIDUE FOR MULTIPLE USES

Fatty Acid Residue ( Vegetable pitch residue ) is a dense, black viscous liquid or paste product obtained from the hydrolysis of diverse animal and plant oils. The most important active agents contained in this substance are rectified fatty acids, which represent a mixture of unsaturated and saturated components. The contained unsaturated fatty acids bring about specific chemical characteristics that are common for double bonds, i.e., readiness to oxidation and the possibility of conducting processes like hydrogenation. Fatty acid residue is mostly used in industrial applications, for example, lubricants, and sometimes as part of animal feed formulations to provide energy and essential fatty acids.
